This is probably the second or third time that I&amp;rsquo;ve tried to create a blog over the years.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&lt;p&gt;Previous attempts have involved creating a &lt;a href="https://github.com/ScrewTurnWiki/wiki" target="_blank"&gt;wiki&lt;/a&gt; or thinking about using &lt;a href="https://wordpress.org/" target="_blank"&gt;WordPress&lt;/a&gt; with a backend database such as &lt;a href="https://www.mysql.com/" target="_blank"&gt;MySQL&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&lt;p&gt;While &lt;a href="https://medium.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Medium&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="https://www.blogger.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Blogger&lt;/a&gt; are popular blogging platforms, they often require a subscription, and I feel that you&amp;rsquo;re not really in control of your own content.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&lt;p&gt;Therefore, I wanted something that was simple, portable, version-controlled, easy to maintain and secure. I also didn&amp;rsquo;t want particularly want to run a Virtual Private Server (VPS) as that seemed overkill.&lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
